machine wash in delicate mode at 30 degrees

A wonderful soft carded yarn from pure wool and cotton. The GOTS certified Bio Balance comes in great melange colors which gives each skein an even more interesting look. This yarn is great for knitting and crocheting baby garments as well as accessories and pullovers for adults. The interesting material combination makes it so versatile and this is why Bio Balance is by far BC Garn's best selling yarn. The GOTS certification is a guarantee for sustainability and social responsibility. The raw wool comes from mulesing-free farms in South America. The cotton is grown in Turkey, where the yarn is spun, too.

GOTS - Organic - certified by BCS 25956

Because of the cashmere content, the mill recommends hand washing to protect the precious fiber and that's what it says on the label. However, BC Garn's machine test at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle was very satisfactory, which is why they can recommend it without hesitation.

ABOUT BC GARN

The Danish-born yarn company BC Garn is the brand with most GOTS certified yarns in the whole industry. As of today already 12 yarns are fully certified and more to come.

BC Garn has been in the market since 1996 when it was founded by Bo Carstensen, who was the son of a weaver and a rug wool trader. Later his wife Marianna joined the company which was situated in Kolding on the Baltic Sea. Their focus has always been the development of natural fibre yarns in a wide shade palette. For some years now, some of their yarns are even GOTS certified.

In spring 2018 Marianna and Bo handed “their baby” over to Britta und Carsten Kremke, who will continue the yarn, color and design style in the tradition of the Danish founders. Almost all of the yarns are produced in Europe, except Soft Silk comes from the typical silk country India and the Babyalpaca is produced in the country of alpacas, Peru.
